Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay: 5.5/10
The original Harold and Kumar was a cult classic making most of its money from DVD sales and rentals. The sequel was hoping to gather some momentum from those while it was still in the theater, and to do so they have one-upped themselves in every way they could find possible. Anything you thought was extreme in the first one will seem like a bland moment in comparison to this sequel.
I was not enjoying it particular much, especially with the sudden rush to put full frontal male nudity on the screen for a shock factor rather than having anything at all to do with the plot. Once you've been shocked, you'd prefer them to stop, but every comedy with an R rating seems to enjoy shocking you in the same way over and over and personally they need to be more original. But the movie was dramatically increased after a group of young ladies sitting in front of me were so offended by the first 20 minutes they decided it was worth leaving to avoid any more offense.
They do however, to their credit, manage to maintain the shock factor and unexpected level of insanity throughout the movie, up until they realise they need to quickly address the conclusion of the story line. I would go ahead and Netflix this one when it comes out on DVD cause its not going to feel like you got enough for your money when you are in a situation demanding it to entertain you. The first one is unmeasurable more entertaining when you happen to see it on unedited on a movie channel when your bored and nothing else to watch and the sequel will fit comfortably into that slot.
