In Bruges:
I passed on this movie in theaters, now realising how stupid an idea that was after I got it in Netflix due to gross negligence. The movie starts out a little slow, giving you the feeling that you've missed something, the feeling that always leads to flashbacks. Once you have received said flashback your caught up on just why the two main characters have been sent to sightseeing hell. From there you embark on a very unique crime adventure with two very oddly paired, but correctly paired, assassins. Colin Farrell's character has a knack for doing just what is necessary to screw himself later in the story, with his extreme personality which is encompassed with the phrase NOT politically correct. You may pick up on a few shots at the stereotypical American tourist, which having been both an American tourist, and more of a local in other places, on the receiving end of extreme ignorance, and well, a lack of common sense.
There is a lot of cursing in this movie. A lot of cursing. So much so that its actually kinda funny as it goes along, it keeps the dialogue interesting, especially when your still not sure what is going on and why your watching this overly happy tourist/assassin drag the brooding reluctant assassin around the sites.
Well how about an actually plot summary for you. An unnamed event has taken place which has forced Brendan Gleeson's character to accompany Colin Farrell's character to this bleak little town to hide out, only to find out the their boss, Ralph Fiennes has alternate intentions for the both of them. There are some extremely unique characters along the way, all well acted, and superbly written. All and all, get this movie, watch it, enjoy it, play the game of guessing who gets what and when and so on. Then, go to the extras and watch the short 3 minute film with all the curse words in the movie cut together in order none stop. Probably one of the funniest thing I've seen in an extras section in many many years.
I do realise I've written a lot and said very little about the film, but there isn't much to say. Its a nice small budget movie done with excellent acting, a masterfully written script, and a number of intentionally or otherwise comedic scenes. Rent it, watch it, enjoy it, let me know what you think.

Gotta love trailers, this is a good depiction of the movie.

I don't watch many. I buy and rent fewer, and I almost never watch television. For me to become interested in a movie that quickly is rather unusual, so you did a good sales job. Thanks for the heads up.
Nice review. And I jus had a look at the comment you had posted , about my"The Dark Knight Review" . I have nothing against Maggie Gyllenhall. And I seriously don't consider katie Holmes to be a halfway-decent actress. Yes , I said she was a stunner , but that was in the looks department. Anyways, the comment was much appreciated . And thanks for the bit about Uber .We were just searching for a name and just picked it at random. Point noted. Cheers.
P.S. Great hubs , Sir.

I missed this one, too, Curdman. Now that I've seen the trailer, I'm on my way.
