Zack and Miri Make a Porno

Kevin Smith finally entertains me on the level of Dogma so many years ago and Mallrats way before that. Zack and Miri Make a Porno is not as dirty I feared it was going to be, mostly because of all the things people were saying way before it came out and being banned in Utah. Well, we all know whats in Utah so not much reason to use them as a good guide. I can only assume what everyone was bitching about where the sex scenes. Which frankly were just shot more like a porno than a movie. So unless you've got something against breasts, you really shouldn't have any problems. Forgetting Sarah Marshall was a little more disturbing graphic wise anyways.

The dialogue was absolutely hilarious. Rather vulgar for some probably, but you might need to just get over yourself then. Its written how a lot of people talk, very crudely, and just like in real life, hearing people say those things is usually more funny than what they are talking about, except Smith actually keeps my attention this time. A major redeeming factor was the presence of a story this time, my major complaint with some of his previous work. Bit chick-flick in truth, but when you surround that with vulgar remarks, hilarious gags, and some awkward situations its hidden well enough to prevent you from hating yourself for going. Yet all the stuff that goes down having a point, makes you feel better in the end anyway.

Check this out if you like comedy, and realise it was pushing the R rating for a reason, so don't go in knowing your easily offended and then bad mouth it, thats just you being stupid, to much of that lately. Its worth seeing in theaters, I think it will be better laughing with a crowd than alone, not sure I'll get this one for the DVD collection cause of that fact, but thats just the kind of movie it is. Oh ya, stay after for a few minutes, some more hilarious dialogue from Justin Long. Poor Superman seems genuinely uncomfortable.
